DOH All Hazards Media Skills Workshop
The Florida Department of Health Office of Communications would like to invite you to participate in a one-day DOH All Hazards Media Skills Workshop at the Okaloosa County Emergency Operations Center in Niceville, Florida.
The workshop will provide students with the knowledge and skills required to effectively communicate public health information to the media, general public and stakeholders during daily activities and emergency response incidents and events. In addition, the ability to convey the necessary skills to effectively perform public information duties (e.g. news interviews, written communications). Multiple mock on-camera interviews are conducted throughout the day. Students should come prepared to participate fully throughout the day in all activities of the course.
The workshop is open to all Region I, II and III CHD Administrators and Directors, designated health public information officers, designated health spokespersons, area hospital public information staff, and other state agency and emergency response partner public information officers. The opportunity to participate in the training is by invitation through the Office of Communications and the Bureau of Preparedness and Response at DOH.
The one-day workshop will be offered on Thursday, July 16, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
